Andrea Interschick

Andrea Interschick (1975, Karlsruhe) is a painter who lives and works in Weiterstadt, near Darmstadt. Her figurative oil paintings, depicting wild animals and natural landscapes, evoke a fairy-tale and mystical atmosphere. They draw on Central and Northern European myths and legends while also engaging with contemporary events and the emotions they provoke. After participating in the International Summer Academy Salzburg in 2014 with Norbert Bisky and in 2015 with Irina Nakhova, she decided to give painting a more central place in her life. She subsequently studied for five years at the Akademie für Malerei Berlin under Ute Wöllmann, a former student of Georg Baselitz. Interschick is actively involved in several art associations and she is member of EULENGASSE.

Her works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally and are held in private collections as well as in the public collection of Goethe University Frankfurt.
